What is a doublet? A doublet is a piece of opal, a thinner pieces, added on to a background of with this piece, a piece of opal host rock for strength and for usage of a natural background material.

This opal gem has lots of broadflash red colours and a good dark depth and it is near the N3, medium dark colour to the gem.
