Antique North African solid sterling silver hand etched square Islamic pendant

A irregular square shaped pendant from the North of Africa.
 
This pendant is solid sterling silver, I have checked this myself as it does have a mark for silver on the back but somthing I am not familiar with therefore I have double checked the metal for silver.
 
The silver at the front is etched by hand with lattice like shapes and patterns, this is done on a raised piece of silver as the piece is hollow, the hollow silver is harder to produce than just casting a solid piece.
 
The middle of the pendant has a raised puff bobble that is pyramidal.
 
There are three holes to wear this through, so one can choose how this piece sits and the type of necklace used for this. 
 
The weight of silver is just over 16 grams.
