Antique Chinese Edwardian Jadeite and silk and brass ladies handmade purse

A purse stitched and produced entirely by hand from the Edwardian era.

 

This purse is a classic ladies stachel type of purse, the purse has floral detail of peonies as the piece is Chinese in origin produced for the market of England as this style of purse, is, from Europe and England. Peonies are calsssically part of Antique Edwardian Jadeite and silk and brass ladies purse Oriental culture of China, Japan and both North and South Korea.

 

This piece has some wear, it has been enjoyed but as a whole, is in useable and quite fine condition. This piece has a bit of wear to the fabric which could be restitched and the brass, has patina which brass does get and that adds character however, the Jade has no chips or cracks and the Jade is Jadeite Jade that is untreated.

 

There are three Jadeite plaque carvings, two are cabochon, smooth and polished and the one for the toggle of this purce is carved, again, in keeping with the them, a hybrid of English/European and Oriental culture, as a peony.

 

The lining of this pursse is silk in a dapper bright yellow.
