Antique Chinese Longquan Shuang Gou handmade Wushu Kung Fu dual hook swords

These were not going to be for sale as I use these for practice and modern ones are balanced differently but since so many have favourited these and shown interest.........

I won't stop someone buying these but if you do buy these, please learn to use them and make sure the swords are enjoyed, the spirit of these swords wants to be used......

Make an offer on these if you want.

I will do trade too, if you have gemstones/jewellery/artefacts etc I will trade if the trade is desirable to me.

This is to allow those that have interest to see a good example of Shuang Gou and these are from Longquan, the original source of the Katana before the Katana existed. Think of Kung Fu weaponry, think of Longquan. This is the most original I have found and the most functional from my perspective as a martial artist.

These are early 1900 and feel great when swung and swooshed.

The video is me doing some light slow movements, the small area restricts faster movements but the balance and quality of the swords can be seen.

Each sword has an indentation for Rockwell hardness testing done during the making, this is to ensure that both swords are a minimum hardness and are equal in build, I imagine this would have been a skill learned during British colonialism.

These have hammered and then welded rivets, that is how Shaung Gou are meant to be made.

Custom wood handles made by a carpenter from my local karate club.

Cloth wrap, a mix of linen and cotton, same as what would be used if intended for combat and this gives good grip and some protection to the hands as well as keeping an oil soaked barrier between the user and the bare/oiled metal thereby keeping them in better condition.

Light rust and dirt removed with vinegar, then oiled with Choji oil and then extra mineral oil, mineral oil applied under wood handles then given oiled cloth wrap before further dry cloth wrap. Cleaned sympathetically so as not to completely leave it as new.

These swords have been used by more than one martial artist including me, the swords have battle damage and this can be seen throughout the images, THESE ARE NOT NEW, therefore please buy accepting this factor.

The swords do need sharpening if they are desired as such and I am leaving that to the buyer, the swords are currently such that I could run my finger along the blades without getting a cut, if sharpened the swords will need re oiling and oiling as they are become sharp. Longquan steel needs lots of oil due to the carbon content.

The hooks have some signs of use, you can see photo six for better detail. These are what I would call battle worn but still very much functional if desired to be so.

The spikes I would say the same as the hooks, they have signs of use but still are what they are, carbon steel pommels and if sharpened will cut, I can attest to that when I grazed myself on one, if the buyer does use these watch the pommels.

There is no wobble or movement in the rivets so they are secure.

These are very high carbon and need to be kept oiled, the entirety of the arm, not just the blade.

If the buyer cleans these, clean with scouring pad and oil and do so with care.
